he High Desert is a great backdrop for
the wide selection of wines and wine
tasting opportunities available in
Central Oregon.
In the tri-county area, there are shops that
boast more than 400 wines from the
Northwest and beyond. There are locals that
offer hearty Bordeaux reds, white wines and
German pinot gris, as well as delicious
chardonnays. Several of the Central Oregon
wine bars offer fresh foods to compliment
and pair with their wines, complete with an
inviting atmosphere.

Bend-based Volcano Vineyards is a micro-
winery producing just 1000 cases of award-
winning wines from various vineyard sources
throughout the Northwest. The Downtown
Bend Tasting Lounge is a wonderful, cozy
spot to enjoy wines, sangrias, sparkling wine
and local beer on draught. It is also available
for intimate private parties…all in the heart
of Historic Downtown Bend.
Winter tasting room hours are
Wednesday, Thursday, and Saturday, noon to
6 p.m., Friday, noon to 8 p.m., and Sunday
noon to 4 p.m.
