cent to the Sherwood Public Library. Those participating in
the parade should sign up by 3:30 p.m. at the Sherwood Post
Office. Everyone is encouraged to dress up in festive cos-
tumes and outfits.
STORY TIME WITH MRS. CLAUS —
Mrs. Claus will pay a special
visit to Al’s Garden Center in Sherwood on Saturday, Dec.
14, at 10:30 a.m. Mrs. Claus (aka Donna Krewson of Tigard)
will delight the kids with special holiday stories. The Sher-
wood Al’s is located at 16920 S.W. Roy Rogers Road.
RED SLED BAZAAR —
Red Sled Bazaar is back again, continuing
a tradition that began in 1996. The annual event, located next
to the Sherwood Target department store, creatively displays
wares from more than 80 artisans, craftspeople and vendors.
Popular items include snowmen, Santas, ornaments, furni-
ture, wreaths, gourmet foods and locally designed jewelry.
This year’s bazaar runs from now until Dec. 24 (it’s closed on
Thanksgiving). Meanwhile, Red Sled is again teaming up
with the Oregon Food Bank to fill its sled with nonperishable
food. Visit redsledbazaar.com or “like” them on Facebook.
SHERWOOD CHAMBER OF COMMERCE SEASON OF GIVING —
Decem-
ber marks the return of the Season of Giving with the Sher-
wood Chamber of Commerce. Sherwood’s anticipated holi-
day retail shopping event will run from Dec. 1 to 23. Resi-
dents are asked to visit local businesses to promote shop-
ping local and receive a gift from each participating organi-
zation. Those visiting all of the participants will be entered
to win a gift basket full of prizes and local goodies. “The
holidays are a time when consumers spend money,” said
Renee Brouse, chamber president. “If we keep those funds
local, they circulate through our community in ways that
support the quality of life, the schools, the parks, the na-
ture, and more that make Sherwood one of the most livable
in the nation.” Using an automated return on investment
metric, the Sherwood chamber estimates that more than
$10,000 has stayed in local businesses during the event’s
three years, driving local holiday spending behavior. Visit
sherwoodchamber.org.
