LIGHTING OF MADDAX WOODS
— In its 10th year,
Maddax Woods will be lit daily from 4 to 9
p.m. at 5785 River St., West Linn. Nov. 16
through Dec. 31. Come and enjoy a magical
walk down a lighted, accessible path
through the woods and to the viewing plat-
form on the Willamette River. A benefit sale
at Maddax Woods is set for Saturday, Nov.
16, from 3 to 8 p.m. There will be conifers
with lights, nature-related gifts and live, na-
tive plants for sale. If you are interested in
purchasing a lit tree or have questions, con-

12TH ANNUAL COMMUNITY TREE LIGHTING
— Fri-
day, Dec. 6, 6 p.m. at West Linn City Hall and
Cascade Summit Town Square. Little ones
can warm up inside city hall with cookie
decorating and a movie. Don’t miss the
treats, in-store specials and offerings of the
businesses of Cascade Summit Town
Square. Donations of nonperishable food
and new unwrapped toys will be accepted on
behalf of the West Linn Food Pantry to bene-
fit local families. Contact the Parks and Rec-

2013 WEST LINN ANNUAL HOLIDAY PARADE
— Sat-
urday, Dec. 14, 10 a.m. on Willamette Falls
Drive in West Linn. This year’s theme is “It’s
a Wonderful Life West Linn — 100 Years.”
The parade begins at 10 a.m., and day of pa-
rade registration and check-in starts at 9
a.m. Pre-registration preferred. Join Santa
after parade at Willamette Fire Station.
There will be hot cocoa, cider and cookies.
Bring a new unwrapped toy for local chil-
dren in need and visit local merchants in
historic Willamette Area. This year, once
again prior to the Holiday Parade, will be
the Ugly Holiday Sweater Dash. Call 503-557-

UGLY HOLIDAY SWEATER DASH
— Saturday, Dec.
14, 9 a.m. to noon at Willamette Falls Drive
in West Linn. The 5K fun run starts at 9
a.m., and fee includes race number, break-
fast and commemorative mug to use
throughout your holiday season. The run
raises funds and food donations for the
West Linn Food Pantry. Cost is $25 per
adult, plus two cans of food for the West
Linn Food Pantry Food Drive. Kids 12 years
and younger are $20, plus can of food. The
1-mile dash starts at 9:30 a.m. Fee includes
race number, great course, breakfast, com-
memorative mug to use throughout your
holiday season and to raise funds and food
donations for the West Linn Food Pantry.
Cost is $15 per person, plus two cans of food
and kids 12 and younger are $10, plus one
can of food. There is also a special family
rate of $40 for two adults and two children
plus six cans of food. Mugs will be given to
