Tuba Christmas Concert — You’ll get in the Christ-
mas mood with the sounds of more than 250 tubas.
It’s the 23rd annual Tuba Christmas Concert on Sat-
urday, Dec. 14, at 1:30 p.m. After the performance,
you can continue your Christmas shopping. This is
going to be one of the busiest shopping days of the

Festival of the Last Minute — This fun event helps
procrastinators as they get closer to Christmas. Port-
land Saturday Market is once again going to make
life a bit easier for last-minute shoppers. Saturday
Market will be open from Dec. 18 through Christmas
Eve, 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Visit portlandsaturdaymar-
ket.com.
Champagne Ball — A great way to wrap up the holi-
days is to attend the Champagne Ball at the Hilton
Portland and Executive Tower on New Year’s Eve.
Over a thousand folks (in the 21 and older crowd) en-
joy themselves in four themed rooms, on three dance
floors and at 17 bars. There’s also the traditional
countdown to the new year. For more information,

Plays and Musicals
“Twist Your Dickens” — A fun performance by Port-
land Center Stage. The PCS website says, “Scrooge,
Tiny Tim and those know-it-all ghosts find them-
selves hopelessly mixed up in zany holiday sketches
with anachronistic characters, uproarious improv
and an ever-changing stable of drop-in local celebrity
guests.” Performances are Tuesday through Sunday
evenings at 7:30. Saturday and Sunday matinees at 2
p.m. and Thursday matinees at noon. There are age
