PROVIDENCE FESTIVAL OF TREES
— The Oregon
Convention Center hosts this annual holiday
event. You and your family will enjoy 25 or
more decorated trees. Youngsters can have a
photo with Santa and create crafts. Public
events begin Friday, Dec. 6, and wrap up Sat-
urday, Dec. 7. Tickets: $6 for adults, $5 for se-
niors, $4 for children from ages 3 to 12. Chil-
dren 2 and younger get in free with an adult.

PORTLAND’S CHRISTMAS CELEBRATION
— For
more than 25 years, this has been a holiday
tradition in Southwest Portland. The perfor-
mances will feature 300 singers, a live orches-
tra, a children’s choir, a youth choir and
handbells. Doors will open 45 minutes before
the concert start time. Performances are Dec.
6, 7, 8, 13, 14 and 15. The Portland Christian
Center is at 5700 S.W. Dosch Road. For ticket

29TH ANNUAL SCANFAIR
— Whether you’re of
Scandinavian ancestry or not, you’ll think
you’re from the old country at ScanFair, at
Portland Veterans Memorial Coliseum, Sat-
urday and Sunday, Dec. 7 and 8. Experience a
Nordic Christmas with live music, dancing
and plenty of entertainment. Scandinavian
artists and dance groups from around the
Northwest will be featured on two stages.
Scandinavian arts and crafts are presented,
and you’ll see the crowning of Oregon Lucia,
Queen of Light, Sunday at 1 p.m. Get your
picture taken with Joulupukki, the Finnish
Santa Claus. ScanFair is Saturday, 10 a.m. to
5 p.m, and Sunday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tickets:
$7 for adults, $6 for seniors, $5 for students
with ID, free for those 12 and younger, and a
family with two adults and two kids are $15.

PORTLAND JINGLE BELL RUN/WALK FOR ARTHRITIS
— This 5K race not only helps start the holi-
day season, but also raises funds to fight ar-
thritis, which is the nations’s leading cause of
