LADY LION VOLLEBALL:
Gabby Susee, Taylor Albertson ‘dangerous’
From page B5
“dangerous” after a particularly
ferocious hit, but she isn’t the
only one with a nose for the kill.
Junior Tayler Albertson (6-1) is
also back this year, shoring up
an intimidating front line. Susee
and Albertson both did a lot of
hitting during camp, and should
get the majority of the passes
this season.
Kylie Reinholdt, who returns
for her senior year, dominated
many of the physical fitness
drills during tryouts. Reinholdt
placed fifth in the triple jump at
the OSAA 5A State Track and
Field championships last spring,
and scored the maximum
amount of points allowed on the
triple jump drill–and that was
during practice. Reinholdt also
has a powerful spike, but Ray
said she won’t get to use it all
that often this season, as she will
be the team’s setter.
Kali Moore is back at outside
hitter for her senior season, as is
Krista Hardy. Madison Kaplan,
also a senior, is back to play libe-
ro.
With the number of open posi-
tions on varsity, that left the
door ajar for many of the JV
players to move up. Junior Hailee
Fischer will back up Reinholdt as
a setter, Rianne Tupper and Lo-
gan Kalauli, a junior and sopho-
more respectively, will see time
at outside hitter.
The Lady Lions will begin their
fall schedule on Sept. 10 at home
against Parkrose before traveling
to Sandy High School on Sept. 12.
They will host a total of seven
home matches this year, includ-
ing the season finale with Sher-
wood, the team the Lions lost to
on the road to finish up last year.
If the season pans out the way
Ray predicts it will, that final
home game will bear a lot of
weight.
“That game will be for the
league title,” said Ray.
Quick Notes:

best seasons.
•Coach Tom Ray thinks the Lady Lions
may contend for NWOC title.
•The Lady Lions have some
experienced players returning and
talented newcomers.

are “dangerous.”
