Central Oregon Mediation
The Central Oregon Mediation (COM)
program provides an alternative dispute
resolution service and education on con-
flict management to the citizens of Central
Oregon. Meditators help people define the
issues, communicate more clearly, resolve
misunderstanding, and explore solutions to
disputes. COM mediators are available to
assist as facilitators at meetings of com-
munity organizations and businesses.

Crook County Community Coalition
The mission of the Community Coalition
is “supporting one another in creating a
safe, healthy, and drug-free Crook County.”
Activities include providing parent educa-
tion opportunities; supporting The Crook
County Reduced Underage Drinking
Initiative; supporting youth-driven initia-
tives; providing education and activities
aimed at reducing alcohol, tobacco and
other drug use; and preventing victimiza-
tion and violent behaviors.
The Coalition is made up of representa-
tives from the Health Department, School
District (CCSD), Police Department, Parks
and Recreation, Commission on Children
and Families, Lutheran Community
Services, County Court,
Juvenile Department,
Crook County District
Attorney and Sheriff’s
Office, Family Resource
Center, parents, youth,
and other community
members.

Commission on
Children and
Families
The Commission
on Children and
Families (CCF) is
responsible for facili-
tating the develop-
ment of a comprehensive plan for
services to children and families, prenatal
through 17 years old for Crook County. The
Commission also provides funding and
resource development to assist with these
services. Areas of interest range from pre-
natal health planning to readiness to learn,
to juvenile crime prevention.
