ere we are facing
another winter in the
beautiful Pacific
Northwest, and I think
we can all agree that the
end of Summer is always
bittersweet. Gone are
sunny days filled with swimming
pools, bike rides, and BBQ’s, but in
their place we can look forward to
the prospect of haunted houses,
pumpkin patches and watching the
leaves on the trees turn from green
to gold.
With the change of seasons we
also find ourselves needing to put
away all those summer essentials
and start bringing out the things
that keep us warm and cozy
through the cooler, crisper days of
December and January.
The problem we all sometimes
encounter is that with the end of
each season most of those
“Seasonal” items can end up
crowding our closets and garages.
This can be frustrating, especially
when most likely we won’t even
need them
again until that
season rolls
around next
year.Whether
intended for
Spring,
Summer, Fall, or
Winter, these
items are won-
derful candi-
dates for Self

wish you a safe and Happy Holiday sea-
son. The holidays are special in so many
ways bringing family, friends and commu-
nity together, sharing a smile, laugh or
spreading some cheer.
And to help spread that cheer they are
again helping the Canby Kiwanis Club as they do
their part with the annual Canby Community Food
& Toy Drive.
This year has been challenging for many fami-
lies and the Kiwanis need your help. It takes the
effort of the community to help our Canby neigh-
bors in need. Believing in supporting the commu-
nity all donations are for families who reside with-
in the Canby School District boundaries.
Participating businesses are now collecting
donations through December 18. Accepted dona-
tions are non-perishable food items and new,
unwrapped gifts for kids of all ages.
To make it easy for you, Dr. Cary’s office has a
bin conveniently located near their front door. All
you need to do is come in and drop of your dona-
tion.
They are located on 4th Avenue across from
Knight Elementary School, at 351 NW 4th Avenue.
Help make a family or child’s holiday something
special by helping out. Kiwanis thank you for your
