ne of the things that make
some automobile dealer-

Vancouver-Salem area in sales and service
customer satisfaction.
With two master service technicians on
staff and over 100 years of combined expe-
rience the service department at Canby
Ford guarantees fast, courteous service and
that your vehicle will be serviced or
repaired to your complete satisfaction.
Whether it’s an oil change or a major repair
every vehicle gets a complimentary 25
point safety inspection including belts,
hoses, brakes, battery, tires, lights and
wipers. Their mission is to make sure you
drive away with confidence and make you
a customer for life.
“We have customers that have been
buying Fords here for over 40 years and
never have their vehicles serviced any-
where else. We are the service department
they trust and it’s a big reason why they
buy their cars and trucks here,” says Keith
Emra, Service Manager.

The History of
Christmas Music
Christmas music originated just a few hundred
years after the birth of Christ, and at that time
Christmas songs were exclusively religious, sung as
latin hymns in Rome. Around 1000 AD these songs
made their way into Germany and France, catching
on like wild fire.
But it wasn't until the 1200s that Christmas songs
were created in languages other than latin. In fact,
English language Christmas music didn't appear
until the 1400's in the UK. The first non-latin songs
were sung in Italy, Germany, and France.
While many people don't realize it, a significant
number of the most popular Christmas songs today
originated in the last hundred years and actually
don't have anything to do with Christmas. Songs like
“Jingle Bells,” “Winter Wonderland,” and “Baby, It's
Cold Outside” don't mention Christmas at all, and
were not made to be Christmas songs.
Did You Know?
In which country is more Christmas music played
than any other? As unexpected as it may be, it's the
Philippines.
In the Philippines Christmas songs are played
everywhere beginning on Sept. 1, the start of what
they refer to as the "Ber Months."
It's a unique practice in the Asian country with the
largest percentage of Christians.
The Filipino Christmas season is the longest in the
world, lasting a third of every year. So if you love
Christmas music and just can't get enough, you'll
surely love visiting the Philippines during the Ber
Months.
