LAKE OSWEGO REVIEW
DECEMBER 2013

Happy holidays from all of us!
ust coming off Thanksgiv-
ing, we’re still basking in the
glow of thankfulness for our
family, friends and delicious
stuffing. But we’re also ready
to roll right on in to December and
all the joyous activities, traditions,
parties and peppermint lattes this
wonderful month has to offer. And
the shopping…oh yes, the shopping!
We know there will be many eager
shoppers perusing Lake Oswego
businesses, so we encourage you
to keep your eyes peeled for Holi-
day Shopping Spree entry boxes at
local stores and restaurants. Take a
minute, fill out an entry form, and
you’ll have a chance to win a $500+
prize package of $25 gift certificates
from all the participating vendors! And, there will
be EIGHT lucky winners! Check out page 2 of this
section for a list of participating businesses, then get
shopping!
Speaking of shopping, do you have a jewelry lover
on your list? If so, you won’t want to miss Sherry
Dorn’s piece about spectacular jewelry found right
here in Lake Oswego. It’s on page 9. Looking for
more local gift inspiration? Turn to page 8 for gift
giving ideas for everyone from future veterinarians
to cigar smokers and chocolate lovers.
(We all have some of those on our lists,
right?)
Feel like taking in some holiday the-
atre performances this month? Lake-
wood Center has several to choose
from, mostly thanks to Kay Vega, the
executive producer who decides which
performances are going to make it on
stage. Learn more about this talented
woman on page 4.
Thinking of throwing a holiday
party this month? Barb Randall in-
terviewed two local caterers, Rhonda
Johnson at Celebrate Catering and
Vicky Davies at Gourmet Produc-
tions, and shares some great tips
– and recipes – to help make your
soiree a great success! To learn more, turn to page
6.
With all the holiday shopping and happenings in
Lake Oswego this month (check out the calendar on
page 12), one could always use a little down time.
Our friends at the Lake Oswego Public Library have
a stack of books to curl up with – all you have to do
is check them out (page 11).
From all of us to all of you, have a fun and memo-
rable holiday season!
