Clackamas County is made up of 1,879
square miles, much of it valuable wil-
derness area, and 383,590 residents.
The North Clackamas area features a
wide range of retail and commercial
offerings blended with picturesque
rural areas. The largest urban unincor-
porated area in North Clackamas in-
cludes the communities of Clackamas,
Jennings Lodge, Oak Grove and Oak
Lodge. If this area were incorporated, it
would be the largest city in the county,
with over 35,000 residents.
Whether immunizing school chil-
dren, supporting new businesses and
development, assisting senior citizens,
looking after disabled or low-income
residents, maintaining roads, or pro-
tecting the community, Clackamas
County government is here to help.
In addition, Clackamas County hosts
a number of taxpayer-supported spe-
cial districts that provide services rang-
ing from wastewater treatment, parks/
recreation activities, and industrial
development, to libraries and street-
lights.
The North Clackamas Aquatic Park
is one highlight. The Aquatic Park fea-
tures a kiddie pool, a dive well, a full-
size swimming pool that draws high
school swim teams throughout the
year, water slides and a 29-foot climb-
ing wall. Our residents also enjoy out-
door activities and take advantage of
the many bike / pedestrian trails, na-
ture walks, and parks in the region.
You can also visit Clackamas County’s
many assets, Mt. Hood and Timber-
line Lodge, Clackamas Town Center,
the Portland Aquarium, Willamette
Falls, the Oregon Military Museum,
the McLoughlin House, Bob’s Red Mill,
the B17 Alliance Museum, the Canby
Ferry, the Molalla Buckeroo, and the
Clackamas County Fair and Rodeo.
Principal industries include agri-
culture, retail services, metals manu-
facturing, trucking / warehousing,
nursery stock, wholesale trade and
construction.
