MONTY PYTHON’S SPAMALOT
Now through October 13
The musical comedy SPAMALOT is “lovingly ripped off from” the film
Monty Python and the Holy Grail, and follows the misadventures of the legendary
King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table. In Medieval England, King Arthur
tramps around on his quest for the Holy Grail, meeting a killer rabbit, feisty French-
men and some beautiful women along the way.
Stage direction for Lakewood’s production is by Alan Shearman (The Producers,
Boeing-Boeing), musical direction by Stephen Alexander (White Christmas, Sweeney
Todd) and choreography by Erin Shannon (The Producers).
Lakewood Center for the Arts is located at 368 S. State Street in Lake Oswego. Tickets are $35 for

THIRD TUESDAY AUTHOR: B.B. CANTWELL

B.B. Cantwell is the pen name for the wife and husband writing team of
Barbara and Brian Cantwell. Barbara was one of the last librarians to serve
aboard the Portland Library’s last operating book mobiles in the late 1980s,
and Brian formerly wrote for a Portland-area newspaper. Join a discussion of
their book, Murdermobile: A Portland Bookmobile Mystery. Free admission.

MARYLHURST READING SERIES: POET DOROTHEA LASKY

Poet Dorothea Lasky will read from her most recent book Thunderbird (Wave Books).
Lasky is the author of two other full-length collections of poetry, Black Life and AWE.
She also co-edited Open the Door: How to Excite Young People About Poetry. Currently,
Lasky is an Assistant Professor of Poetry at Columbia University’s School of the Arts and
lives in New York City.
Marylhurst University is located at on Hwy 43 between Lake Oswego and West Linn.

STORYTELLING FESTIVAL 2013: LIGHTEN UP!

Lake Oswego Public Library’s 3rd Annual Storytelling Festival. Featured storytellers include Kim Weitkamp,
Will Hornyak, Charlie Williams (Noiseguy) and Ann-Louise Sterry. There will be individual sessions with all
the storytellers, as well as one group performance on Sunday that the whole family will enjoy.

ENCHANTED EVENING DANCE

Put on your dance shoes and dance to your favorite oldies from the 30s, 40s and 50s. The Millennium
Dance Band, conducted by Dale Cleland, will entertain and delight
you with lively renditions of days gone by. Nostalgic melodies from the
Swing Era include April Showers, Strings of Pearls, Tuxedo Junc-
tion and Sing, Sing, Sing. The spirited performance will also include
contemporary tunes to spark the interest of the younger crowd.
