TAYLOR LOSS
Scappoose Quarterback
Scappoose loses some
talent from last season,
but brings back a lot ,too
By JOHN BREWINGTON
The Spotlight
The Scappoose Indians may
pick it up a notch this season, and
that could be bad news for the rest
of the Cowapa League and teams
in the post season.
The Tribe had their first league
title season in several years last
time around, and they bring back
enough veterans from last season
to expand their offensive play ca-
pabilities.
Sean McNabb, now in his 15th
season as head coach, says the
goals for the team are always the
same, “Be league champions and
be in a position to make a run at a
state title.”
Scappoose lost 17 players from
last year’s team, including the of-
fensive and defensive players of
the year—Paul Revis and Tyler
Schillereff, respectively.
“We lost some very valuable
players, but we have more starters
back this year than last,” McNabb
pointed out. “Some of these guys
started last year as juniors.”
