shopping
hat special time of
year where every mother is
busily preparing for back to
school shopping, which usu-
ally means it’s the official
end of summer. Where
moms and kids alike are
looking for awesome styles
that will help kids feel good enough to
ace a test and get them excited about
learning! Here are some tips for mak-
ing your job easier as a parent.
If you have older children and want
to shop smart, give them clip boards.
Get creative and ask them to help
you with ideas, in fact you can work
and shop together. Perhaps, even go
through the store ads and circulars
together and cut out pictures of things
they may want. Whatever you decide,
take your children shopping with you;
make them a part of the process and
have fun as you purchase some of the
requested items and school essentials,
and together cross them off the list.
On the other hand, if you
are a “super” busy mom, (like
so many), speed up the process by
asking them for a few ideas and then
simply make the purchases, return
home with arms full of packages, a big
smile and say “surprise!” Works every
time…well…almost! It usually requires
a few trips back to exchange, but that’s
OK, by the time you are able to do so
it’s October — the weather is chilly
and the kids can actually wear some
of their new winter clothes!
Model: Sydney Jabusch
, 14 years old and a high school freshman, who recently traveled to Mexico and Rwanda, Africa
on mission trips.
Francesca’s:
Has many “can’t live with-
out pieces” that are whimsical, modern and
eclectic, with the bonus of prices that are easy
on the checkbook. Teen-agers and all ages are
in love with their trendy, fashionable clothes.
They have an amazing selection of chic,
colorful handbags, select shoes and innovative
gifts. In fact, their stylish jewelry pieces rival
many of the spendy stores, yet the $$ amount
is so much less!
Look #1. Chambray Shirt:
The
perfect thing to spend your allowance
on! Every young student should own this
essential piece in a soft shade of denim.
It goes over anything and yet pairs with
jeans as well as skirts and dresses. $36
Blouse:
A novelty graphic blouse in
fresh orange citrus with shots of blue
and black. Features soft flutter sleeves, a
drawstring waist, and it’s completely wash-
able! $34
Jeans:
Winter white, of course, in the
new skinny cut. You will see white all
year…it’s the non-color that has made a hit
with all ages. It goes with everything and
is a cool canvas for any color you want to
add. $44
Boots:
Our model, Sydney, is styling
in these savvy boots. They were made for
walking, running, playing and dancing,
but most of all for just kickin’ it! They
pair perfect with all skirts, leggings and
dresses. The neutral brown shade is the
way to go, as it works with most colors and
prints. $58
Backpack:
Now your pencils, papers
and binders have a modern, cool way to
get around in this tribal-inspired backpack
with leather-like trim. $38
Earrings:
Citrus orange drop for just a
pop of color. Not too big in size, just right.
Soft blue and orangesicle colors are a hit
together. $9
Bracelet:
Leather cuff bracelet with
contrasting stone. $12
Look #2. Skirt:
Look how easily the
same soft blue chambray shirt and citrus
orange blouse; pair with a black and white
print skirt. $34
Earrings:
A quick change to white
round drop earrings brings a whole new
freshness to this look. $12
Sandals:
Simple, strappy black leather
thong with a touch of gold. A great transi-
tional shoe that can be worn right into fall!
$19.98
Be a savvy Mom and
before the kids head out the
door take an instagram of
their new style and Twitter
hashtag #Francesca’s and
#Glass Butterfly!
