Stage direction for Lakewood’s production is by Alan Shearman (The
Producers, Boeing-Boeing), musical direction by Stephen Alexander (White
Christmas, Sweeney Todd) and choreography by Erin Shannon (The
Producers).
The original Broadway production of SPAMALOT opened in March
2005 at the Shubert Theatre, and was nominated for 14 Tony Awards,
winning the 2005 Tony Award for “Best Musical.” SPAMALOT also won
a Grammy Award in 2006 for “Best Musical Show Album. During its first
run of over 1,500 performances, it was seen by more than two million people.
