T
he Westside may not
have the breadth of
options of Portland for
live music, dance
clubs, karaoke and cutting
loose with friends at the end of
a tough week at the office, but
local residents don’t have to
cross the mountain to rock,
dance and sing the night away
when Friday and Saturday
nights roll around.
With three pool tables, two
dance floors and 59 brew taps,
The Dublin Pub at 6821 S.W.
Beaverton-Hillsdale Highway
in Raleigh Hills is one of the
longest-running and most con-
sistent live music venues this
side of the big downtown.
Bands take the stage on Fri-
days and Saturdays, with pok-
er, bar bingo and Hold ’em
Northwest Poker on Tuesdays.
Practically across the street
from the Dublin is Studio 503,
which, along with Club Under-
ground in Aloha, provide plen-
ty of groovilisciousness for
those who like to boogie and
mingle in a lively, DJ-fueled
dance club. Somewhat hidden
down a flight of stairs in the
Cedar Hill Shopping Center,
Retro Rhythm offers a spa-
cious boogie emporium for the
30- and 40-plus crowd that still
likes to exit the house and TV
room now and again.
Fledgling singers can put
their pipes to the test with kara-
oke five nights a week at the
Sports Page, 8590 S.W. Hall
Blvd., while up-and-coming sing-
er/songwriters and musicians
can hone their craft in open mic
nights at Ava Roasteria and the
Raccoon Lodge, 7424 S.W. Bea-
verton-Hillsdale Highway.
