Sageland
Welcome to the Fall 2013 edition of
Sageland, the magazine dedicated
to celebrating Jefferson County and
showcasing its people and culture.
With zest for living as an underly-
ing theme, this edition profiles
Madras powerglider pilot Roy
Jackson, plus the hiking mecca that
is Crooked River Ranch. We take an
afternoon jaunt down Trout Creek
Road, which in a few bumpy but
beautiful miles takes travelers from
the farm fields of the Gateway area
to the sandy banks of the Deschutes
River.
This edition also includes a special
advertising section titled “Let’s
Get Acquainted,” which introduces
readers to the people and entrepre-
neurs, the products and services,
within the Madras area.
The next Sageland will be
published in January. We’re excited
to announce that it will be a
combined publication with the
Madras-Jefferson County Chamber
Directory 2014.
