Location, location,
location! My clients, a
young couple, spent
a year looking for
the right location to
raise their growing
family. When I saw
this house, in the right neighborhood, I
knew right away that it would be a great
home for them with a huge upside. They
would be able to raise a family in this
neighborhood, and it would give them
a handsome return on their investment,
if they desired. The existing house was a
tired 1950’s ranch style on
Council Crest begging for
a face lift. We did more
than a facelift. We went
from top to bottom with a whole house
remodel.
Award winning architect Scott Edwards
teamed with Petrina Construction Inc to
turn this tired old soul into a stunning
contemporary wedge-shaped home with
a spectacular view in an outstanding and
established neighborhood.
A full-house overhaul required the
removal of the roof, the framing, and
the exterior walls right down to the
plywood floors. Next, Petrina’s crew and
subcontractors began construction and
the architects drawings took on a new life.
The new design has a master suite, three
bedrooms, and three and a half baths.
Product selections throughout the house
reinforce the clean, bold, contemporary
look and add to the practical livability of
this family home. The fireplaces in the
master suite and living area feature steel
surrounds and a lightweight concrete
hearth. The hardwood is extra-wide
white oak plank. Custom cabinets are
walnut with an ebony finish and a modern
silhouette. The countertops are Chroma
– a synthetic stone that is beautiful
and durable. The bathrooms feature
contemporary 8”x16” porcelain tiles. The
black cladded windows were provided by
Jeld-Wenn. Additional features include
stunning garage doors of opaque glass
with black metal framing and a stair
railing of black wrought iron posts and
steel cable railings.
