What to do with
a split level ranch?
Our clients wanted
a larger great room,
modern kitchen and
expansive outdoor
entertaining spaces.
Metke Remodeling’s in-house design
team along with Keith Abel Residential
Design cooked up this beautiful
transformation.
They initially added 283 square
feet of living space to the great room,
incorporating soaring roof lines and
opening the confined kitchen to the
newly expanded room.
Dramatic vaulted ceilings and clearstory
windows create a warm, light-filled
gathering space for family and friends.
A new custom kitchen with painted and
stained cabinetry along with opposing
countertop materials enhance the modern
feel of the space. A pot filler above the
48” Wolf range, Sub Zero stainless steel
refrigerator, wine cooler and a full-
height marble tile back splash and slab
countertops are some of the luxurious
details. The great room is complete
with a traditional stone clad fireplace
juxtaposed with contemporary lines of
a smooth plaster hearth, sleek mantle
and entertainment cabinet. A handsome
stained bar cabinet tucked in the corner of
the dining area balances the new space.
Taking the party outside is an impressive
12-foot sliding glass door maximizing
the indoor-outdoor livability of the
home. 1,000 square feet of new open-air
concrete patio draws you to the expansive
outdoor entertaining room tucked into
the treed hillside. Relax by a roaring fire
while admiring the stone fireplace, cedar
tongue and groove ceiling and beautiful
details of the outdoor structure.
