Alice in Wonderland
Come see an all-ages cast per-
form an ageless story. The
Performing Arts Group of Estacada
presents Lewis Carroll’s “Alice in
Wonderland,” adapted for stage by
Michele L. Vacca. The play will be
performed at the Estacada Junior
High School Auditorium, at 500 N.
Main St. in Estacada on March 14,
15 and 16 at 7:00 p.m., and March
17 at 2:00 p.m. Our production will
also feature original interpretations
of several of Carroll’s poems found
in the “Alice” books. Donations
gratefully accepted donation at the
door.

Hamlet of Molalla Prairie Rural
Community meeting will be held at 7

Library Board Vacancy
The Molalla Public Library has a
vacancy on its library board. Any
adult living outside the city limits of
Molalla is eligible. This is an advisory
board which meets the third Thursday
of every month at 6 p.m. at the library.
The commitment is for four years. If

the Molalla Public Library and return it

Molalla Pancake Breakfast
Molalla Church of the Nazarene
will hold a pancake breakfast
Saturday, March 23 from 8 to 11
a.m. The church is located at 920
Shirley St. in Molalla.
Cost of the meal will be donations
only, with the proceeds going
towards Molalla youth participation
in sports and talent at Main Event in
Nampa, Idaho. The students will
serve at the breakfast. Everyone in
the community is welcome.
PFLAG meeting in Oregon City
The Clackamas County Chapter of
Parents, Family, and Friends of
Lesbians and Gays (PFLAG) will meet
at 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 26, at the
Atkinson Memorial Church, 710 6th

Molalla mental health support
The National Alliance on Mental
Illness (NAMI) Molalla support group
is open to family and friends of
anyone with a mental illness as well
as those with a diagnosis. The group
meets at 6:30 p.m. on the first
Monday of every month at the
Molalla Christian Church, at Third
and Berkley streets.

Enchilada Cookoff
An Enchilada Cook-off will be held
as a fundraiser for the Cystic Fibrosis
Foundation on March 23, at the
Mooselodge in Molalla.
The event is subject to
cancellation if not enough interested
parties sign up as contestants in the
cook-off.
Participants can cook the
enchiladas from home, take them to
the event location, have them judged
by city officials and the public, and
after all is said and done, the winner
will receive a new set of tires, valued
at up to $400, courtesy of Molalla
Discount Tire.
To submit enchiladas, the entry fee
will be $25, all of which will be
donated to the Cystic Fibrosis
Foundation. Voting tickets will be
sold to attendees so that they can
vote for their favorite enchiladas. 100
percent of the proceeds will be
donated to the Cystic Fibrosis
Foundation to help find a cure for this
fatal and incurable disease.

City Council meeting
The Molalla City Council will have
a regular session on March 27 at 7
p.m. at the Molalla Adult Center, 315

Easter Egg Hunt
The Kiwanas Club of Molalla is
gearing up for the annual community
Easter Egg Hunt. The event will take
place on Saturday, March 30 at
10:30 a.m. sharp at Clark Park.
Please be sure to have your children
bring a basket. Maximum age for the
hunt is 10 years old. Prizes will be
awarded. Come and have your pic-
ture taken with the Easter Bunny.

Spring Cleaning
Spring Cleaning event at the
Dibble House Museum Complex on
Saturday, March 30 starting at 10
a.m. Everyone who has even 15 min-
utes and can wield a broom or dust
cloth is invited to come and show
your support of your museum.
Refreshments will be provided. This
is a good way to get up close and
personal with the Museum buildings
and displays!
Molalla River lottery
Molalla River Academy, a public
charter school option for children
kindergarten through eighth grade,
will hold a public lottery for fall at
6:30 p.m. April 2.

Toys, miniatures, doll houses
The Toys, Miniatures and Doll
House Show will be held at the
Molalla Area Historical Society
Dibble House Museum Complex
from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday and
Saturday, April 5 and 6.
Admission is $6 for adults and $1
for children. Lunch will be available
from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. The Dibble
House is at 620 S. Molalla Ave. in
Molalla.
TOPS: Take Off Pounds
Sensibly — two meetings
Do you want to lose weight? Tops
is a nonprofit, low-cost program.
Members are men, women and chil-
dren. The TOPS groups offer ongoing
support and guidance with your
lifestyle.
The group also has fun doing this
with competitions and games. Tops
recognizes and rewards success.
There is no admission cost for the
first meeting. It is free. The group
meets at the Church of Christ at 126
Fenton St. in Molalla on Wednesday
mornings at 9 a.m.
A second group meets at the
Molalla Church of Christ on Thursday
nights at 5:45 p.m.

committee members
The City of Molalla is looking for
three people to serve on the
upcoming Budget Committee. You
must live inside the Molalla City
limits in order to serve. Anyone

Molalla Foursquare Church
pastors resign
The pastors of Molalla Foursquare
Church, Jeff and Lynn Jones, have
resigned. They will be leaving the
end of March. The church has begun
the process of finding a new pastor.
Kids for Christ youth group
chili cook-off a hit
Kids For Christ, the youth group at
Molalla Foursquare Church, held their
first annual Chili Cook-Off fundraiser
Sunday Feb 24th. Nine people entered
a wide variety of chilis, making it diffi-
cult for the judges (Cindy Dishner of
Cindy’s Café; Kevin Palmer, principal of
Butte Creek School; Jessie Stober of
Grandma Jessie’s Catering; and Jill
Schmitz, of Jill’s Hitchin’ Post) to
choose the very best of the best.
The first place winners are Jeff and
Lynn Jones, second went to Jenna
Alber, and third went to Randy Harris.
Other entrants were: Elisabeth Milner;
Arlene Robinson; Ricki Milner and
Madison Mead; Eric, Jael and Chelsea
Olson-St.Clair; Barbara Klawitter; and
Alice Flintjie.
Thanks to the donations of prizes
from our local community including:
The New Markum Inn, Cindy’s Cafe,
Jills Hitching Post, Pepco, and photog-
rapher William Guttermsen, the event
was a successful fundraiser for the
Kids For Christ summer camp at
Victory Retreat.

Molalla Radio Theater will be presenting a performance of Dashiell
Hammett’s “The Maltese Falcon.” A hunt for an ancient statue, black in
color and history, draws private detective Sam Spade into murder and
intrigue. There will be three free performances: Friday and Saturday, March
15 and 16 at 7 p.m, and Sunday, March 17 at 1 p.m. Refreshments will be
provided.
