C
urator Shannon McBride,
dialed hesitantly, calling
Portland icon artist Wil-
liam Park about participating as
an invited artist in the
Artist's
Vision 50 Squared
show. Her
odds, she thought, were slim.
She asked. A moment later, she
beamed with a happy ear-to-ear
smile.
Park was thrilled to be asked
and gave a resounding yes. He
got his start at the Lake Oswego
Festival of the Arts and recalled
the Festival being one of the first
placeswhere he showedhiswork.
The Artist's Vision show is the
perfect venue for newand emerg-
ing artists who want an opportu-
nity to show their work in a pre-
mier event, not unlike Park did so
many years ago.
The
Artist's Vision 50 Squared
show, summed up in one word,
is "fresh." McBride is striving for
edgy, new and fresh artists and
ideas.
"I want to challenge the viewer
and I want to provide opportuni-
ties for new up-and-coming art-
ists. That doesn't mean that es-
