opment opportunities within this intriguing area.
Happy Valley’s City Council, staff and the local business
community are working together to create a well planned,
balanced and business-friendly city, with a variety of resi-
dential, institutional, commercial and industrial develop-
ment opportunities. As economic development in the city
and the region continues, the City of Happy Valley hopes
to attract future employers and service providers who real-

this area. Working together with residents and current and
future business owners, the City aims for partnerships that
will provide that all important balance of maintaining the
City’s livability while providing a broad array of potential

City parks and green spaces
are a key factor in the livability
of a city, and thus, its attraction
to residents and employers.
Major open space acquisitions
have occurred by Metro (the
regional government) in the
greater Scouter’s Mountain
area. More specifically,
Metro recently acquired
approximately 100 acres
along the western edge of
the butte, with plans to de-
velop a picnic shelter and
trails at the site of the
previous Boy Scouts of
America facility known
as Chief Obie Lodge.

“There's no better place to have a business and to raise
a family than Happy Valley. Since my business is real
estate, I really appreciate being able to point out the
excellent schools, local shopping and convenient access
to the main highways. There's an amazing sense of com-
munity, positive energy and focus on family. ”
