What’s going on
ART ON BROADWAY
Art on Broadway is a great way to get
acquainted with area artists. The August
Featured Show is the Artist Annual,
showcasing all 20 member artists. The
Featured Guest Show (through August
31) is Kumi Pickford, an area artist who
teaches at local facilities. This showwill
feature portraits in soft pastel by Pickford
and some of her students. The third
Sunday of August, Donna Sanson, who
directs Art on Broadway with Bert Cohen,
will offer a watercolor demonstration
from 1 to 3 p.m. Art on Broadway was
honored in 2012 with a Beaverton 4
Business achievement award. Visit Art

2013 CONCERT AND THEATER IN
THE PARK BY TUALATIN HILLS
PARK AND RECREATION DISTRICT
There are just a fewmore chances to
take in this wonderful summer event. On
August 15, at Raleigh Park, it’s award-
winning vocalist and songwriter Curtis
Salgado. Also on hand is Sara Jackson-
Holman, a pianist/singer/songwriter. On
Thursday, August 22, at Cedar Mill Park,
the Patrick Lamb Band
will entertain with
soul, R&B and jazz
sounds. These concerts
run from 6 p.m. to 8

FLICKS BY THE FOUNTAIN
Don’t let this summer pass you by without
bringing the family to Flicks by the
Fountain. These movies begin at dusk and
also feature short films from the Beaverton
School District’s Signal to Noise student
film contest. Pre-movie entertainment
begins at 7 p.m. On August 16, enjoy the
movie Hulk. Pre-movie entertainment
features MVP Dance Elite Studio and
Encore Performing Arts Center Dance
Showcase. On August 23, Freaky Friday
is the flick. Pre-movie entertainment
that evening will be Radio Disney
Dance and Music Showcase. For more
