MASQUE ALFRESCO PRESENTS
LOVERS QUARRELS
This performance takes place Saturday
and Sunday, August 17 and 18, 7 p.m.,
on the Beaverton Library lawn. The
followingWednesday, 7 p.m., at the
Beaverton City Library Auditorium, enjoy
a BeavertonWind Ensemble Concert
featuring “Compositions by Franz Joseph

BEAVERTON LAST TUESDAY
This summer concert series, in the public
plaza at The Round, celebrates music,
food and art. August 27, Todd Haaby and
Band will perform. Haaby is a Nuevo
Flamenco guitarist. Also performing
will be Kalabharathi School of Dance,
presenting Bharathanatyam, an ancient
south Indian dance form. This free
program runs from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. For

LATINO DAY AT BEAVERTON
FARMERS MARKET
There are always fun activities at
Beaverton’s rapidly-growing Farmers
Market. August wraps up with Latino Day,
August 31, at the market. This is a chance
to get to know our cultural diversity.
Music, kid’s activities and organizations
will be featured. At the market will be
the Beaverton Hispanic Resource Center
and the Centro Cultural. The Beaverton
Farmers Market features nursery growers,
farmers and ranchers. If you’re stumped as
to what to fix for dinner, talk with artisan
food producers.

HELP HOMEPLATE YOUTH
SERVICES AT DOWNTOWN
BEAVERTON FIRST FRIDAY
First Friday businesses will be collecting
donations September 6 to help Beaverton’s
homeless youth population. First Friday
businesses and the Beaverton Downtown
Association are supporting this supply
drive. Most needed items are bus tickets,
backpacks, baby wipes, sleeping bags
and diapers of all sizes. HomePlate
offers outreach, weekly dinners and
social support to those experiencing
homelessness or housing difficulties.
First Friday is from 5 to 8 p.m. For more
