Cackamas County Fair 2013
Sheep, Rabbits, and Cows, oh my! The
livestock judging
schedule
has been changed for the upcoming 2013 Clackamas
County Fair. If you are showing livestock at the fair, make sure to
check the show times so you can plan accordingly on when to
show your animals.
Or if you are just watching, many classes have changed times or
days so make sure you check the schedule for your favorite class
before coming out to the Fair.
Additionally, Sunday, Aug. 18, is still the
Fred Meyer Family Da
y,
but “family admission passes”will no longer be offered. Instead,
all kids ages 12 and under will be admitted free to the fair, just like
they are on Tuesday, Aug. 14,
Wave Broadband Children’s Day
.
There are also changes to the Clackamas County Fair Talent
Show.
This year, the Talent Show is no longer restricted to just
Clackamas County residents! Anyone in the State of Oregon can
enter the Clackamas County Fair Talent Show and place and win
prize money. However, to conform to Oregon State Fair rules, only
a resident of Clackamas County may advance to the State Fair
Talent Show. For example, anyone can place first, second or third
in the Clackamas Co. Talent Show, but if none of the winners are
from Clackamas County, then the highest placing Clackamas
County Resident will advance to the State Fair (even if that person
placed fourth or lower).

In an effort to help neighbors
who are struggling to put food
on the table each day, the
Clackamas County Fair will hold
a food drive on Fred Meyer
Family Day, Sunday, Aug. 18.
The Fair is working with the St.
Vincent De Paul Food Bank and
partnering with Fred Meyer on
the “Dream Big” national food
drive campaign.
Bring two nonperishable food
items to the Fred Meyer booth
on Sunday, and enter your name
in a drawing for a Fred Meyer gift
card! The winning name will be
drawn and announced on the
Main Lawn Stage at 5 p.m. on
Aug. 18.
In addition to nonperishable
food, cash donations will be
accepted. For every dollar
donated, 10 pounds of food can
be purchased, thanks to the buy-
ing power of food banks. All
food and cash donations will
stay within the Canby area.
The Clackamas County Fair is
joining in the year-long “Dream
Big” food drive campaign organ-
ized by the International
Association of Fairs and
Expositions (IAFE).
Since fairs work so closely with
their neighboring communities,
IAFE stepped forward to assist
on an international level. So
bring in non-perishable or
canned food and remember that
every person can contribute and
make a difference. Dream Big
this summer with the Clackamas
County Fair and the Fred Meyer
Family Day Food Drive!
