If you need high-qualifed, skilled labor, then Beaverton is the place to be. Forty percent of city residents possess a bachelor’s degree or higher. Ninety percent are high school graduates. Our workforce is skilled in technology, manufacturing, and of course, the outdoor and apparel industry, with some of the largest names such as Nike, and Columbia Sportswear, right in our backyard.
Business Spotlight: Lanphere Enterprises
Lanphere Enterprises, headquartered in Beaverton, is an example of the type of community involvement from local businesses that keeps our city strong. With more than 550 employees in Oregon, Lanphere is a signifcant employer in the city. This past year, Lanphere was honored by the City and the Chamber of Commerce with a Business 4 Beaverton award. Lanphere also received recognition as one of Oregon’s Top Private 150 Companies by Oregon Business Magazine. Lanphere was also honored as a 2011 Service to Beaverton award winner.
At their request, Lanphere recently added several properties into Beaverton, further solidifying their commitment to the City. The company sponsors the Celebration Parade. Senior executives volunteer for the Visioning Advisory Committee, the Beaverton Urban Renewal Agency and the Beaverton Area Chamber of Commerce Board. The company recently provided a great deal of material and fnancial support for a Leadership Beaverton class project to provide an awning for the Beaverton Family Resource Center.

Beaverton4Business Award
Launched in 2009, the Beaverton4Business (B4B) Awards is a City of Beaverton program, conducted in cooperation with the Beaverton Chamber of Commerce, that publicly recognizes signifcant business achievement by companies headquartered or with operations in Beaverton.
The Beaverton Mayor’s Offce makes fnal selection of all B4B Award recipients based upon factors ranging from, but not limited to, fscal year revenue growth, employment, capital acquisition, product innovation and sustainability to green operations, and signifcant trade or business media notoriety.
