Wine, SakÉ… and more
Forest Grove and western Washington
County boast more than two dozen
wineries
— the closest concentration of wineries
to Portland. Although Pinot Noir and Pinot Gris
are emphasized throughout the North Willamette
region, these vintners also produce several other
varietals and classes, including Chardonnay,
Riesling, Rosé, dessert and sparkling wines.
The mix of wineries in the Forest Grove area
includes internationally-acclaimed large producers
as well as many small, family-owned boutique
wine makers.
The city also has one of the only
American-owned saké breweries in the
country.
SakéOne is an award-winning saké brewery
open for daily tours and tastings and small plate pairings.
Summer highlights include the Pacific Rim festival, outdoor
concerts, and Japanese saké celebrations.
Forest Grove’s historic Main Street is home
to a pair of popular wine and food events each
summer.
The Main Course features wine-tasting and a sit-
down dinner under the soft light of street lamps while Forest
Grove UnCorked! is a more casual celebration of local food
and wine.
In addition to the annual Memorial Day and Thanksgiving
weekend wine tastings, the Forest Grove vicinity wineries
cooperate in hosting several extravaganzas, including the
North Willamette Vintners’ spring Wine
Trail and fall Harvest Trail.
