Arts & culture
Forest Grove is the cultural center of
the surrounding area,
with several art
galleries, a community theater company and
venues offering live music every weekend.
Theatre in the Grove,
our own local theater
company, is a great venue for those who enjoy
the theatrical side of life. Whether you like
comedy or drama, Theatre in the Grove has
some shows geared to children and others
designed for adults.
Valley Art Gallery,
one of the oldest
nonprofit art associations in the Pacific
Northwest, features the work of more than
200 established and emerging regional artists.
Paintings and reproductions, fine pottery, jewelry,
wood carvings, glass art, metal sculpture, textiles and
outdoor collectibles are all represented.
Pacific University is an arts and culture
extravaganza all by itself
— with something
always happening on campus. The Performing Arts
Series is an annual celebration of world-class music
and entertainment performances enjoyed by all ages
in the school’s Taylor-Meade Performing Arts Center.
Exhibits change monthly throughout the academic year
in the Kathrin Cawein Gallery of Art, where
receptions featuring popular
artists provide an opportunity for
folks to gain a greater insight into
their work.
You can find a medley of
musical acts at McMenamins
Grand Lodge
every weekend
and several coffee shops,
restaurants, wine shops and wineries
regularly host local and regional
artists and musicians.
