2012 PORTLAND INTERNATIONAL AUTO SHOW
Greg Remensperger
Executive Vice President
Metro Portland New Car Dealers Association
Greetings. Welcome to the 2012 Auto Show.
Metro Portland New Car Dealers Association
On behalf of the Metro Portland New Car Dealers Association, I am pleased to
welcome you to the 2012 Portland International Auto Show.
Every year the association and its nearly 100 new car and truck dealers in the
metro Portland area strive to bring the most exciting and awe-inspiring displays of
motor vehicles, accessories and new technologies to our customers. The 2012 show is
no exception, and I have a feeling we will exceed your expectations.
Along with the new cars and trucks from more than 36 global brands, we have
some newcomers in Fisker, Rolls Royce and Bentley. For the second year we have
the largest collection of eco-friendly vehicles and technology on the North American
auto show circuit in our 30,000 square foot ECO Center. As
Portlanders know, hybrids, electric vehicles and alternative-
fuel vehicles are no longer concepts of the future — these are
vehicles of today that are changing the car culture and, in
some cases, changing the way we live. And we have all the answers to implement
them into your lifestyle with key partners PGE, Oregon Department of Energy, Drive
Oregon and the Columbia Willamette Clean Cities Coalition.
I hope you’ll use the auto show to learn, to compare, and to shop. Experience
a Ride & Drive, one of the most effective and interactive ways to get to know a
vehicle. No pressure, no hype, just the promise of having every one of your questions
answered by an accompanying product specialist. And, this year, we have six
outdoor Ride & Drives courtesy of General Motors, Kia, Toyota, Subaru, Volkswagen
and Scion. In addition, we have the unique indoor off-road obstacle course — Camp
Jeep, a can’t miss feature! So, if you just need a day to escape a gray January
afternoon, there’s no better place and no better value to enjoy a number of family-
friendly features and entertaining activities than the Portland International Auto
Show, the state’s largest consumer show; Oregon’s largest automotive display.
Again, thank you, and welcome. I’m glad you’re here.
