elebrity landscape designer and
television personality Ahmed Hassan
will bring his entertaining and humorous
approach to landscaping to this year’s Yard,
Garden & Patio Show.
The 2012 Oregon Association of
Nurseries’ (OAN) annual Yard, Garden &
Patio Show, which is Feb. 17-19 and is
presented by Dennis’ 7 Dees Landscaping
and Garden Centers, will feature two pre-
sentations daily from Hassan.
“We are extremely excited to bring
Ahmed Hassan to YGP 2012,” said OAN
director of events and education Allan
Niemi. “His show ‘Yard Crashers’ is wildly
popular and his presence at YGP will
expose the event to an entirely new audi-
ence. We’ll have his presentations live
onstage on the show floor so that everyone
will have a chance to see him.”
Hassan’s presentations are spontaneous,
comedic, physical and often interactive.
The format takes on an entirely different
look with each presentation, but most
include:

trimming, pruning and hedging, etc.
Planting beautiful containers

Selecting the right soil

Dispelling myths and urban legends

He utilizes a “fully dressed set” with
props (such as shrubs, perennials, annu-
als, mulches, soil, gravel, etc.) to demon-
strate skills and techniques.
Since 2008, Hassan and his team
have surprised families with customized
residential landscapes and upgraded
homes on DIY Network’s “Yard Crashers.”
Following a series of hosting stints for
numerous DIY Network television shows
— including “The Dirt On…,” “Green Me
Up,” and “Blog Cabin” — the network
created the series to showcase Hassan’s
high energy, motivational spirit and love
for everything green.
He has served as guest contributor for
the CBS Early Show and NBC’s Today
Show. He is a guest columnist for several
publications, including the new HGTV
magazine.
Hassan will appear twice daily on the
show floor at YGP:
Friday and Saturday,
Feb. 17-18, at noon and 4 p.m.; and
Sunday, Feb. 19, at noon and 3 p.m.
