of Portugal: the hand-painted tiles, the
delicate linens air-drying outside windows
and balconies, the aroma of rosemary,
the inviting simplicity of wine and bread
on the table, the crying of a Portuguese
guitar… and the hospitality.
“This exhibit was a perfect opportunity
to incorporate my tiles and other art in
a garden setting,” Lapis Lazuli designer
Izzy Baptista said. “It is also a tribute to
Portugal, the country where I learned how
to hand-paint tiles over two decades ago.”
Formal English Garden
Aspen Creek Landscaping
Aspen Creek Landscaping’s Formal
English Garden captures the spirit of a
traditional garden, capturing playfulness
and formality to appeal to all types of
garden enthusiasts.
The elements present in the Formal
English Garden follow the theme
throughout: The focus is on an elegant
stone fountain at the central point, which
is complemented by art, pots and struc-
ture along cobbled paths.
“The Formal English Garden is care-
fully thought out to appeal to a wide
range of visitors,” Aspen Creek owner
Scott Picker said. “Young and old will be
inspired to wander about, even in our
cold wet spring weather.”
