Oregon City and West Linn will offer
two days of events celebrating the area’s
industrial heritage, culture and outdoor
recreational opportunities. This is the
second year for the celebration that
kicked off last year with the reopening of
the historic Arch Bridge, which had been
closed 1 ½ years for renovation.
Sample local food, wine and
brews, watch local artists create
their masterpieces, explore
numerous heritage sites and
soak in the area’s natural
beauty while strolling,
running, pedaling, or pad-
dling. Kids will love
hands-on activities includ-
ing clay paints, petroglyph
art, and making cordage for
fishing lines, skills taught by
members of the Confederated
Tribes of Grand Ronde.
Families will have the opportu-
nity to sharpen their sleuthing skills as
they join in the heritage geocaching chal-
lenge to earn one of 250 Willamette Falls
Festival commemorative geocoins. Caches
are hidden in public places in both West
Linn and Oregon City. For a change of pace,
jetboat rides will launch from Jon Storm
dock for a close up look at Willamette Falls
and the Locks.
FRIDAY, OCT 4:
On Friday, October 4 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.,

Oregon Territory. Enjoy grilled Chinook
Salmon, Venison sausage and huckleberry
compote with frosted spruce tips at this ex-

early bird gets the worm.” This will prove
true for those perusing the Artisan Farmers
Market from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday in
the main pavilion tent located in the parking
lot at Blue Heron Mill. Take home locally-
grown produce, meats, yarns and plants for
your fall garden. Stick around from 2 p.m. to

with acoustic, jazz and blues sounds from lo-
cal musicians, including Grammy award
nominated Ellen Whyte.
Special guided tours of two mills
and a power plant will begin at 9

Electric’s power plant and

tures, river views and
walls of the former Oregon

Past, Present, & Future?” presented by an
Army Corps of Engineers speaker at 2 p.m.

Rivers’ “Mid Run” sculpture in Clackamette
Park. While at Clackamette Park, join the
Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde for
their cultural demonstrations of Native
American hand drumming, flint knapping,
