After 35 years, Dr. John Chessar
handed over the reins to Dr.
Joseph Young.
Dr. Young continues the excellent
care that patients have come to
depend on from King City Dental.
You’ll see familiar faces along
with some new ones!

Special Consideration To Seniors
T
here’s a few things visitors to
the GameTime Festival of Bal-
loons in Tigard need to know
before they head to the three-
day community celebration.
Cook Park is located at 17005 S.W.
92nd Ave. The car entrance is through
the swim center parking lot, next to Ti-
gard High School, 9000 S.W. Durham
Road (tigardballoon.org offers direc-
tions as well as a mapping option).
Festival parking is available on the
school field for $5. Proceeds benefit
THS Breakfast Rotary and THS Boost-
ers. It’s a brief walk down the hill to the
festival grounds. You may choose to
catch a shuttle for $1 per person, which
benefits the American Cancer Society/
Relay for Life Tigard-Tualatin.
There is also a back entrance to Cook
Park. For those able and willing to park
in Tualatin across the river, just take
the pedestrian bridge and enjoy a sce-
nic stroll.
And hey, if you don’t want to drive,
ride your bike. The festival will provide
a bike check, where you can safely
leave your bike.
As far as admission to the festival,
the best deal is a three-day pass, which
you can purchase online at the festival
website.
For those hoping to see the balloons
on the field, balloons will launch every
morning, weather permitting. You have
to arrive early to watch ascensions be-
tween 5:45 and 6:15 a.m. After that, a
few balloons will be tethered during the
day, and some corporate balloons will
tether on the field again at dusk for the
Night Glow on Friday and Saturday.
“Facebook is the first and only place
that we announce the up-to-the-minute
early morning launches (happening or
not) and the Night glow inflations,” said
festival spokeswoman Cindy Padilla.
balloons will fly any particular morn-
ing, check the Facebook page. To “Like
us” on Facebook, she said, visit tigard-
balloon.org.
