Nearly 200 home building pro-
fessionals gathered last June
for the Home Builders Associa-
tion of Metropolitan Portland’s
seventh annual Excellence
Awards Banquet, which rec-
ognizes the outstanding work
of local companies across a
variety of categories, including
new residential construction,
remodeling and marketing.
Winners are selected by a panel
of industry professionals based
on aesthetics, general design
and other factors and are di-
vided into selection groups by
budgetary consideration. This
year, the association awarded
32 awards.
“It is important that we take
some time each year to ap-
plaud the companies who lead
our industry with professional
and high-caliber projects,” says
Steve Heiteen, HBA President.
“Despite what has been a diffi-
cult few years, these companies
represent a building industry
that is delivering outstand-
ing service and quality. Their
continuing commitment to
excellence makes a powerful
contribution to the improving
economy and housing market
of the greater Portland metro
area.”
Excellence Awards Winners
Remodeler of the Year -
Patrick Richardson
As an active member who contributes
regularly to the HBA, Patrick Richard-
son of Murrayhill Remodeling went
above and beyond this last year by
giving of his time and expertise. He
recently headed up the PRO’s Santa
House project at Bridgeport Village
and regularly represents the of PRO at the HBA’s Home & Garden
shows. Thank you Patrick for your hard work!
Associate of the Year -
Thomas Adams
Thomas Adams of Classic Electric is
a constant presence at the Profes-
sional Remodelers Organization (PRO)
Executive and Marketing Committees
where he regularly contributes his
knowledge and experience. This year
Thomas made an exceptional dona-
tion of time, expertise and materials to the Home & Garden show
“Smart Home,” the NW Natural Street of Dreams, the PRO Santa
House project as well as other HBA events.
