Stop and think about your
dream kitchen or bath for just
a moment. Do you have an idea

tionality it will have? Do you
know just the colors you want,

materials. Look for a cabinet-
maker that uses sustainably har-
vested wood, low-VOC finishes
and high quality hardware.
There is truly no replacing
the quality of the human hand
or the keen attention to detail
of the human eye. Beyond ex-
cellent quality of materials,
look for handcrafted cabinets
that aren’t simply pumped
through an assembly line. From
the prep work through finish
application, each step should
have a real person there, hand
sanding or hand wiping fin-
ish and inspecting for quality
along the way.
Most impor tant ly, cus-
tom cabinetry does not have
to break the bank. Form and
function can coexist with af-
fordability. Look for a cabinet-
maker with robust standard
options to keep your upgrade
and up charges to a minimum.
All of those little extras that
make your kitchen or bath spe-
cial should just be included.
