BOONES FERRY BOND
- Safety Brings Success
With passage of measure 3-406, a modest civic investment ($18 per year on a $300,000 home), Lake
Grove will emerge as a vibrant and accessible town center making crossing safe, shopping a pleasure,
and boosting property values in the commercial district and in adjacent neighborhoods.
Please join your friends and neighbors in support of this effort and

dried fruits,” Ward said. “Late harvest Rieslings and
Gewürztraminer can be a sweet treat as well.”

“The best wines for turkey and Thanksgiving
day in my opinion are rosés, unoaked white wines
and lighter reds, Pinot noirs being probably the
best of that bunch,” World Class Wines Owner
Rick Baldwin said.
Rosé’s complement foods from start to finish on
Thanksgiving Day, he said. “With their distinctive
flavor and dry finish, they tend to bring your palate
back to ground zero, so to speak.”
So, each mouthful of turkey, stuffing or appe-
tizers will take center stage. World Class Wines
stocks more than 40 different rosés made from
varietals and different wine regions, Baldwin said.
“Unoaked whites could be chardonnays, sauvi-
gnon blancs, pinot gris, etc.,” Baldwin said. “The
key is to have something dry and crisp that doesn’t
compete with the myriad of flavors on Thanksgiv-
ing.”
Baldwin also recommends lighter reds such as
Beaujolais and Pinot noir.
“The wines are delicate and so is turkey,” he said.
“The local Pinots are front and center for turkey
day.”
To be safe — and stocked — Baldwin recom-
mends having all three types of wines available on
Thanksgiving.
“There should be something for everybody,” he
said, “well, except for the folks that like the bigger
reds who are probably also having prime rib.”

Rick Baldwin, owner of World Class Wines in Lake Oswego, invites locals to his shop to explore their extensive wine collection and
pick up a blend for the Thanksgiving table.
World Class Wines carries 40 different rosés made from “every kind of grape and
from every country,” Owner Rick Baldwin said.
World Class Wines recommends deLancellotti Family Vineyards’
Estate Pinot noir ($59.95) and Christophe Pacalet Beaujolais-Vil-
lages’ blends ($15.95).
“The key is to have something dry and
crisp that doesn’t compete with the
myriad of flavors on Thanksgiving.”
