How they earn points: When a cur-
rent member recruits a new primary
member (full membership) they receive
one (1) point. Each time the new mem-
ber renews their membership in the
coming years, the current member re-
ceives half (.5) points. Each recruitment
of an affiliate or PrO member adds half
(.5) a point and renewal of affiliate or
PrO Council adds a quarter (.25) of a
point.

The November Member-
ship Drive kicked off on a
rainy afternoon at Chevy’s,
but the weather did not
dampen the efforts of the Membership
Drive Teams.
This Drive turned into a “battle royale”
between two Teams, the highly com-
petitive Infill Builders and the driven NW
Natural Street of Dreams/Custom Builders.
Keith Steffen of Arbor Homes for the SOD/
CB Team proved to be a formidable oppo-
nent to the Infill Builders’ newly crowned
“Spike King” Justin Wood, who individually
brought in seven new members. By the
end of the Drive, both the SOD/CB Team
and the Infill Builder Team were tied at
thirteen new members each. A tie breaker
was called for, and in true Spike King-fash-
ion, Justin brought in an additional new
member at the eleventh hour, bringing
his individual total to eight new members
– just barely beating Keith for both the In-
dividual and Team wins.

Membership Drive, boosting the HBA’s
end-of-year number total to over 1,100
members!
