Community events, large and small,
define the spirit of Happy Valley.
T
he city’s best known event is its
4
th
of July Family
Festival
. A Family Float & Bicycle Parade draws
bikes, floats, fire trucks, military vehicles and cos-
tumed participants down a quarter-mile parade
route that marches to a grand finale at Happy Valley Park.
Here, the festival launches into full swing with live enter-
tainment, bands, amusement rides, and an avenue of food
vendors. Day long activities come to a brilliant conclusion
with one of the largest fireworks display in the county that
can be seen city-wide across the sky.
Happy Valley Park is the stage for rock and roll, coun-
try, jazz and blues as
Summer Concerts in the Park
play throughout July and August. Just bring the blanket
or chairs and the rest is handled. Pick up your food &
beverage, shaved ice treats or maybe a trip to the beer
and wine vendor, then sit back and listen to the eve-
ning’s musical performance.
With every season, there’s something to celebrate.
The annual October
Harvest Fest
celebration is a wel-
come opportunity to bring families to Happy Valley Park
as it’s transformed for the day into a pumpkin patch
complete with tractor hay rides, farm animals and
plenty of activities to entertain the kids. In December,
the annual

Ceremony

The
Pendarvis Farm Pickathon
is a nationally recognized musical extravaganza that draws
travelers from across the country. Thousands attend this eco-friendly gathering for
3
days of continuous music
performed by 50 bands across six stages. This year will mark
the 15th festival for day visitors or campers to attend this rural party located at 16581
SE Hagen Road. Another Pendarvis Farm favorite is the
Bluegrass and Old Time Picker’s
Festival
— an annual two day music fest held every September.
