saying that the bike path was
not related to the expansion
and that the city was unfairly
taking part of the property
without pay.
The Supreme Court ruled 5-4
that the city was wrong in forc-
ing A-Boy to donate the land,
and set new national standards
for zoning and property rights
and was responsible for new
limits on the ability of cities to
use zoning and land-use regula-
tions to force property owners
to make public improvements.
Fascinating stuff, really.
