FARMER
MEET THE
Founders Randy Buresh and his wife, Pamela, believe
deeply that herbal remedies should be pure, free of
chemicals and contaminants, and taken whole. Their
farm near Sandy, Oregon, is certified organic, but is
also certified biodynamic, a farming philosophy based
on the interdependence of the soil, the watershed,
the wildlife and the natural cycles of the planet.
As part of the biodynamic certification, at least 10
percent of their land must be kept as natural habitat
to encourage healthy relationships among the wildlife
and insect population. But the rules aren’t the reason
the Bureshes choose to farm this way. To them, it’s
the most natural, sensible way to treat the planet
and the plants. They’ve been using organic farming
methods since they first settled on the land more than
20 years ago, before “green” and “sustainable” were
buzzwords. The farm is self-contained, self-sustaining
and in tune with the natural cycles of the planet. All of
their herbs are grown, processed and packaged right
on the farm, ensuring their careful handling from seed
to capsule. Find Oregon’s Wild Harvest products in
the Wellness department in all of our stores, and learn
more about the company and farming practices by
listening to our podcast.
