CHALLENGE YOUR KIDS TO A ROUND
OF GOLF
—The 9-hole Children’s Course
in Gladstone is a public golf course that
opened in 1960. The course measures
1480 yards from the longest tees. The
course features 3 sets of tees for dif-
ferent skill levels. It is open year-round
and located at 19825 River Rd., Glad-
stone. Green fees are about $10. Visit

WALK THE CLACKAMAS TOWN CENTER
Clackamas Town Center provides access
for walking in a climate-controlled en-
vironment throughout the year. Walkers
can access the center at approximately
6 a.m. through main mall entrances. The
upper level, including the Food Court,
is approximately .6 miles and the lower
level is approximately .5 miles. Visit
Clackamastowncenter.com for all mall
events.
SEE A PLAY AT THE LAKEWOOD CENTER
— The Lakewood Theatre Company is
located at the Lakewood Center for the
Arts, 368 S. State St. in Lake Oswego.
On the bill for the coming summer is “LA
CAGE AUX FOLLES (May 3-June 9). Visit

OREGON DAHLIA FESTIVAL
—Aug. 25-26
and Aug. 31-Sept. 2. A must see for the
Dahlia or just flower lovers. Over 400
arrangements of dahlias at Swan Island
Dahlias in Canby will be displayed in
two indoor rooms. The largest display of
dahlias by any grower in the U.S. from
teacup to floor to ceiling extravaganzas!
Also stroll through over 40 acres of
dahlias and participate in tuber dividing
classes, etc.
TAKE A NATURE HIKE
Mt. Talbert Nature Park—Just steps out-
side your neighborhood winds a moder-
ate system of maintained hiking trails at
Mt. Talbert, off Mathers Road in Clacka-
mas. Lose yourself amongst the trees
and meadows within miles of lush forest
seen by many who travel along I-205
every day, but never experience it first
hand. Bring the kids for a shorter nature
walk around the parking area and have a
picnic at the base of the forest.
Happy Valley Park—Stroll across the
boardwalk and see the sights and
sounds of native animals including ducks
and birds, while enjoying this authentic
glimpse at nature. When you’re done,
visit the over 24 acres of fun at the park
including playgrounds, dog parks, picnic
areas, baseball fields and more.
TAKE YOUR DOGGIE TO THE PARK

safe and designated doggie play parks
in the county where your pooch can go
off leash and socialize with other dogs.
