Community Policing

Being recognized as one of the safest cities in the Pacifc Northwest for the fourth year in a row is a tremendous point of pride. The Beaverton Police Department is nationally recognized for its innovative programs and a true community policing approach. Our city thrives because people feel safe to enjoy the community .   

Community Emergency Response Teams

Hundreds of volunteers have been trained to assist in emergency response, help their neighbors, and learn life saving techniques.

Public Safety

Even in a safe community—hard work pays off. This past year, serious person crimes, property crimes and lesser crimes, like fraud and driving under the infuence, have all decreased.  

Fiscal Responsibility

Beaverton is unique among governments. The City does not utilize its full taxing authority. City leadership strives to live within its means and has not increased the tax rate in three years. The current fscal budget actually lowered tax rates slightly. The City has added new business outreach support programs, including workforce training dollars, micro lending programs, small business assistance and more.

Sustainable Living

Being green is easy in Beaverton. Taking care of our environment is our way of life. Our city invests in green technologies and is looking to the future by supporting electric vehicle infrastructure, low impact development, green power, solar power production, and energy effciency in both private and public facilities.
