What’s new:
Happy Valley’s economic and community development has gained consid-
erable momentum in the last two years. Residential building construction
activity has increased significantly and home prices continue to rebound
throughout the Happy Valley area. An additional commercial building will
soon begin construction in the existing Happy Valley Town Center shopping
center, a 124-unit senior living facility is planned at 114th & Sunnyside and
miscellaneous commercial development continues to expand in the city’s
growing business community, particularly along Sunnyside Road. The com-
munity’s local schools, police fire and emergency services offer their best in
education and protection for its citizens. Major medical providers offer easily
accessible health care. Community centered development such as a new
picnic shelter on Scouter’s Mountain, a new “gateway” sign at the northeast
corner of 122nd Avenue & Sunnyside Road, a planned Skate Park at Happy
Valley Park and major pedestrian and bicycle improvements along 145th
Ave./King Road demonstrate the great pride and innovation that the City
takes in providing a well-balanced, well-designed community.
Signature event:
Happy Valley 4th of July Festival,
The fun goes all day long and into the night
as this annual classic kicks off with a quarter mile parade of bikes, floats,
classic cars and more. At Happy Valley Park, kids will have fun on amuse-
ment rides, bounce houses and in the Splash Pad while families can listen to
great music and live entertainment , visit a multitude of food vendors and find
their special spot to watch the grand finale fireworks display at dusk.
