PROVIDENCE FESTIVAL OF TREES
— There will be more than 80,000
lights adorning 100 specialty trees at the Providence Festival of Trees Dec. 5
through Dec. 7, at the Oregon Convention Center. With full-size and mini
trees, wreaths and other holiday displays, there’s a lot to see. It’s also a great

SEASON OF LIGHTS CONCERT
— Peter Zisa and Friends
present the seventh annual Season of Lights Concert at First
Christian Church, Southwest Park Avenue and Columbia
Street, on Saturday, Dec. 7 at 7 p.m. The
free program will feature gospel singer
LaRhonda Steele, the Portland In-
terfaith Gospel Choir, Pink Marti-
ni vocalist Ida Rae Cahana
and Clarinet musician Ed Krauss. Do-
nations benefit Hand in Hand: Center
for Jewish-Arab Education in Israel, a
network of integrated schools in Isra-
el, founded by Portland native Lee Gor-
don, that fosters peaceful relations
among Jewish, Palestinian Muslim and
Christian people.
ORIGAMI EXHIBIT
— The Oregon His-
tory Museum will host the traveling exhi-
bition “Folding Paper: The Infinite Possi-
bilities of Origami,” from now through
Jan. 11. The show looks at the modern advances of
origami through contemporary artworks, inven-
tions and videos and explores the art form’s con-
nection to math, science and design. The Oregon
History Museum is located at 1200 S.W. Park Ave-
