a.m. to 5 p.m. in Ju-
ly and August and
admission is $8.50
for adults, $5.50 for
young people ages 6
to 18. The address is

THE GROTTO
— The National Sanctuary of Our
Sorrowful Mother, also known as The Grotto, is
a 62-acre Catholic shrine and garden that is
open year round for anyone who wants to take a
peaceful stroll. In addition to manicured
gardens, statues and reflection areas,
there are ponds, an elevator, gift shop and
a 110-foot basalt cliff. The Grotto is locat-
ed at 8840 N.E. Skidmore St., though the
main entrance is on Northeast 85th Ave-
nue and Sandy Boulevard. The grounds
are open from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. during the
summer. The annual blessing of the ani-
mals will be Sunday, July 15 at 2 p.m. in the pla-
