LES SCHWAB CRUISIN’
— A classic and custom car show, Les Schwab
Cruisin’ will be June 8 in Sherwood’s Old Town. One of the biggest attractions
is the annual burnout, where spectators vote by applause for the best and
loudest peel out, and the engine blow, where cars are drained of coolant and
run until the engine dies while onlookers take bets about which engine will
run the longest. For more information, visit cruisinsherwood.com.

PADDLE BOATS
— Propel yourself through a fun afternoon at Blue Lake
Park. The Metro-operated park offers paddle boats, row boats and canoes for
rent between May 1 and Sept. 30. For more information, call 503-661-6087.
Blue Lake Park is east of Portland in Fairview at 20500 N.E. Marine Drive. Pri-
vately owned watercraft also are allowed as long as they are no longer than
14 feet. (Photo by Fred Joe)
