CHOCOLATEFEST
January 10, 2013
W
hat’s the connec-
tion between the
World Forestry
Center and Choco-
lateFest?
The World Forestry Center is
a nonprofit organization found-
ed in 1964 and located in Port-
land’s Washington Park. Our mission is to educate
and inform people about the world’s forests and trees,
as well as environmental sustainability.
In 2006 the Center held its first ChocolateFest, giv-
ing visitors the chance to sam-
ple and savor wonderful choco-
late products, but also to learn
about the tropical cacao tree
and how chocolate is made
from bean to bar.
Now in its eighth year, Choco-
lateFest has grown into a North-
west tradition with vendors attending from all over
the country. Since this event is produced by World
Forestry Center staff, 100 percent of the proceeds
from ChocolateFest go back into our education mis-
sion.
We’d like to thank the many vendors, sponsors,
presenters, volunteers and supporters of Chocolate-
Fest, without whom this event would not be possible.
And a special thank you to the Oregon Convention
Center staff members for their support of this event.
We hope you enjoy ChocolateFest 2013, and we
hope all your chocolate dreams come true.
We’d love to hear your comments at mail@world-
forestry.org.
