Simplify your shopping at the Under
21Club and Over 35 Club exhibit
Comparing similar new cars can be
difficult at most auto shows. Cars by different
manufacturers in the same price and mileage
range are usually located away from each
other in different areas and, sometimes, on
different floors.
But not at the 2012 Portland International
Auto Show, where two special displays place
some of the today’s most affordable and fuel-
efficient vehicles side by side.
The Under 21 Club is designed to
showcase the most affordable new cars, those
priced $21,000 and under. With many people
considering buying a used or certified used
car, this room will prove how many new cars
can be purchased for about the same amount
of money — but with longer warranties and
more financing options.
The Over 35 Club is designed to showcase
the conventional vehicles from many
manufactures that get 35 miles per gallon or
better. With many people considering such
options as hybrids and electric vehicles, there
is aneed to consider ahigh-mileage automobile
that can significantly reduce greenhouse gas
emissions at a potentially lower price.
Visitors will have the chance to view
many choices right next to each other in the
same location.
Let’s face it: The only way to really know
if a vehicle is right for you and your family
is to drive it. This year, an unprecedented
seven manufacturers are offering free Rides
& Drives all during the Portland International
Auto Show. The Camp Jeep rides will be
conducted by professional drivers inside the
show. Visitors can drive models from six other
manufacturers outside the show.
The outside drives feature vehicles from
General Motors, Kia, Scion, Subaru, Toyota
and Volkswagen. They include the extended
range electric Chevy Volt, the redesigned
Subaru Impreza, the all-new Scion iQ, the
newest Toyota Camry and the full Kia line.
You can sign up and take a Scion iQ out for
a spin at the paved pavilion across the street
from the Oregon Convention Center. They
will be available from 11 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Friday through Sunday.
