Aftermarket Showcase
Location: B Meeting Rooms (tentative)
Are you one of those people who just can’t leave your car alone?
Then the Aftermarket Showcase is for you. Returning this year, the
showcase features a wide variety of aftermarket accessories, vehicle
detailing products and demonstrations, and fully customized vehicles
such as muscle cars, tuner cars, outlaw race cars and more. Onsite
vehicle builds will also be happening during the show, and information
on local car clubs will also be available.
The Great Outdoors
Location: F Meeting Rooms
The Great Outdoors area recognizes that being outdoors is a way
of life for people in the Northwest and that many gorgeous locations
are within an hour to two of Portland. Vehicle accessories such as bike
racks and cargo carriers can help outdoor enthusiasts make the most of
their free time.
Several vehicles will be on display in this area outfitted with the
newest factory and custom accessories for carrying recreational gear
and supplies. They include racks and other equipment for carrying
bikes, paddle board, wind boards, snow skiing gear, backpacking
supplies and more.
Sponsored by Next Adventure and Rack Attack, this area will also
include valuable information and promotions on many destinations in
the Great Outdoors area.
Healthy Life Garage
Location: A lobby and meeting rooms
If you get tired of looking at cars, take a wellness break at the
Healthy Life Garage, sponsored by Pacific Health Source. There you can
participate in health screenings, games and activities, and also explore
ways to maximize your health through preventive maintenance in the
three interactive zones. Once you’ve completed these events, relax with
a water massage and have a glass of wine to complete the experience.
This area will also feature partners in the healthy lifestyle
movement, such as local favorite Dave’s Killer Bread.
The ECO Center
Location: Portland Ball Room
For those who want to learn how to live lightly on the planet and
reduce their carbon footprint, the ECO Center is returning to the Auto
Show with its emphasis on the most fuel-efficient vehicles — including
electric, hybrid and clean diesel automobiles. They are all collected in
one location for easy comparisons.
The ECO Center will once again provide visitors with information
on each of these types of vehicles, and how manufacturers are
embracing these new technologies. This will be a huge draw for show-
goers, especially considering that Oregon is a big part of the nationally
funded green highway program that will include an infrastructure of
around 2,000 electric charging stations from the Canada boarder to
Southern California.
In addition, Schnitzer Steel will be back with a crushed car
demonstrating automotive recycling through a fun contest in which
participants are asked to identify its year, make and model. The winner
will walk away with a free big screen TV.
Fun-filled features for the entire
family at this year’s Auto Show
