elcome to the 2012 Yard, Garden
& Patio Show presented by
Dennis’ 7 Dees Landscaping & Garden
Centers. The show’s theme this year is
“Think Global, Garden Local.” With that
said, we’ve gone over the top this year
in providing exciting show features while
giving you new ideas and insight on how
to bring global concepts and ideas to
your garden.
In staying with the theme, Think
Global, Garden Local, YGP 2012’s
“Seven Gardens of the World” make up
most spectacular display of creativity
and global diversity ever brought to the
show: Dennis’ 7 Dees Landscaping’s
Chinese Garden; “Garden Of Pompeii,”
designed by Jeff Froeber and created
by Showscape Inc.; a French-Parisian
Courtyard, “Le Confort Francais,”
designed by Linda Meyer and J.P Stone
Contractors; a “Japanese Tea House
Garden” created by Treeline Designz &
Baseline Landscapes; “Praça Ibérica,” a
Portuguese courtyard, designed by Lapis
Lazuli Design and Professional Grounds
Management; a “Formal English Garden”
designed and created by Scott Picker
of Aspen Creek Landscaping; and the
“Sultans Paradise” Persian Garden, cre-
ated by Paradise Restored Landscaping.
Ahmed Hassan, host of the DIY
Network’s popular Yard Crashers TV
show will be presenting live on the YGP
main stage each day of the show, deliver-
ing his unique approach to landscape
maintenance, container planting, soil
types, watering and dispelling myths and
urban legends.
Learn about urban farming at YGP’s
Garden to Table exhibit and enjoy sus-
tainable garden art by Cracked Pots art-
ists. Impress friends and family at your
next BBQ when you pick up a tip at our
Outdoor Cooking Classes.
Shop at YGP’s Remarkable Green
Market and visit the Hardy Plant Society’s
winter interest plant display. Visit our
250 vendors and discover all the new
products and services available to make
your garden special. Kids’ Digs provides
kids with many activities designed to
entertain and educate. Check out many
world-class speakers featured in our free
seminars and, of course, our own Mike
Darcy will be speaking live Saturday
morning on KXL Radio’s “In the Garden.”
This is my last year as YGP’s
Committee Chair, so I’d like to extend
my thanks to the Oregon Association of
Nurseries for producing and support-
ing the show each year. I would also
like to thank sponsors Dennis’ 7 Dees
